The Citrus Dart Association is a steel tip dart league. In 1988. C.D.A. started as an in-house league and has now grown to 4 locations and 26 boards, meeting once per week and all teams are traveling teams. Our number of teams varies from season to season due to temporary residence, vacations and obviously, “summer”.

State Association: Florida Dart Association (F.D.A.). The C.D.A. is a member in good standing on a state level with involvement on multi levels. We also host the State Year End Meeting which is completely voluntary and primarily at our expense. In addition, we provide a team each year to compete for the State Championships. There are two levels for State Championship:

Regional: Generally takes place in August.

Finals: Generally takes place in October.

National Association: American Dart Organization (A.D.O.). The C.D.A. is a member in good standing on a National Level and continues to involve many members on a National Level through Regional shoots and Youth organization.

Local Levels: The C.D.A. also has a Youth Program, which is the largest contingency of Youth Dart Shooter throughout the State. They compete locally at least once per month with an emphasis on safety and sportsmanship. They compete at tournaments four times per year:

                                                                                                                  Space Coast Spectacular: Melbourne, Fl.

Vero Beach/Buddy Taylor Memorial: Vero Beach, Fl.

Cherry Bomb International: Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.

                 Glenn Silva Memorial: Melbourne, Fl.

Local Levels

In addition, they compete yearly for the opportunity to advance to the National Youth Championships though a Regional Shoot against all participating youths in Florida. Our youths also volunteer their time to our teams through our annual golf tournament. We are adamant about our youths giving back to our sport. Once they reach the age of adult competition, many of our youths become “mentors” to new youths coming in.

Community Involvement: The C.DA. also contributes to our community by volunteering our expertise and time in events such as the Senior Olympics. Obviously, we participate in the Dart Event! This takes place once per year and we take great pride in participating! These are the individuals who brought us into our sport and we will do our best to make them proud. They were our “Mentors”.
